MPN was founded on the belief that ozone therapy is one our strongest allies in science-based medicine and should be utilized when treating chronic health conditions. Ozone is considered to be a panacea, and interplays with a wide range of physiological processes in the body.
The first apparatus for producing ozone gas was patented by Nikola Telsa on September 22nd 1896. Ozone has been used for medical and disinfectant purposes throughout the 1900s, primarily in Europe and more recently in the US. Despite over 1700 studies and 10 major books published in the last 20 years on medical ozone, the FDA still states that “ozone is a toxic gas with no known medical use.” Let’s examine this statement further…
Ozone gas diffuses into air rather quickly. It needs a fat carrier to maintain its molecular structure (O3), therefor our blood is a perfect medium. During an ozone UVBI treatment, we draw your blood, combine it with ozone gas, pass it through a quartz cuvette to increase surface area and oxygenation while under UV light, and administer it back into you vein. This impressive and technical IV is generally painless and extremely well tolerated.
Ozone is an oxidative therapy. The outcome of an oxidative therapy is to increase oxygenation throughout the body. There are FOUR oxidative therapies in medicine:
(1) hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
(2) high dose intravenous vitamin C
(3) intravenous hydrogen peroxide, and
(4) medical ozone
Ozone, when combined in your blood, has a vast and immediate systemic effect that is useful for both chronic and acute conditions.
Ozone has the following documented uses in the body:
As an anti-inflammatory
As a direct anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and fungicial agent
As an immune modulator, especially impactful for auto-immunity
It activates oxygen-dependent processes throughout the body (such as mitochondrial activation, therefore improving ENERGY)
It can support detoxification of the hepatic and renal tissues
It can reduce nerve pain
It has hemostatic effects, thereby thinning the blood (this is especially important post-COVID and post-COVID vaccination)
Lastly, it is a possible activator of stem cells for neurovascularization and tissue reconstruction, therefore useful for all joint injuries regardless of there being an infectious component.
An ozone UVBI is actually two separate treatments in one. Ultraviolet blood irradiation (UVBI) refers to the rather fancy lightbox that your blood is passed through, before returning to your vein. Ultraviolet light is a combination of UVA, UVB, and UVC light waves (another example of light therapy is Red-Light Therapy). Blood that is exposed to UV light has five times as much photonic energy, therefore red and white blood cells express a heightened ability to respond to infection.
“Ultraviolet blood irradiation treatment is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for treating T-cell lymphoma involving the skin. Clinical trials look promising for the treatment of immune system diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, rejection of transplanted organs and graft versus host disease…” ~ American Cancer Society.
We very much agree with the FDA in regards to UV light applications.
Here is a recap of the physiological effects of Ozone and UVBI when combined together:
